Renowned balladeer and World Vision celebrity ambassador, Christian Bautista, recently lent his voice and unwavering support to the global child-oriented organization. He joined World Vision in celebrating the #GirlsCan campaign, commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child. His presence on stage wasn’t just about serenading the audience; it was also about shining a spotlight on critical women’s issues. He created a safe space for dialogue, fostering discussions on how men and boys can become even more valuable allies to women and girls.

Bautista shares, “The fight for women’s rights isn’t solely in the hands of girls and women. As men and allies, we must take a firmer stance and actively participate in educating, supporting, and ensuring that women feel safe and secure and can thrive.”

While various initiatives, like gender inclusion programs, have made strides in improving the circumstances of women and girls in recent years, an intriguing insight emerges from studies. The success of these programs is notably amplified when men engage. When men intentionally and wholeheartedly participate in programs designed for women, an impressive 96% of organizations make significant progress. This starkly contrasts with the modest 30% progress seen when men are absent. This underscores the pivotal role that men play in driving positive change.

Through the #GirlsCan campaign, World Vision extends an invitation to everyone, regardless of gender, to raise awareness about women’s issues and advocate for change. The goal is to safeguard and nurture the well-being of women and girls across the country.
