Girls Can Campaign Launch Ignites Movement for Girls’ Empowerment in the Philippines

World Vision Philippines successfully launched its Girls Can Campaign on August 9, 2025, at Gateway Mall, marking a bold step forward in the movement to empower girls across the nation.

The event, themed “The Movement Starts Here,” brought together partners, advocates, sponsors, and empowered women who uplift girls. They courageously shared their inspiring stories and insights. Through powerful talks, performances, and interactive activities, the campaign highlighted the importance of empowering girls to learn, lead, decide for themselves, and thrive.

World Vision Philippines extends its heartfelt gratitude to its valued corporate partners who played a crucial role in making the event a success, including Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI), Araneta City’s Gateway Mall, Christian Educators’ Network (CedNet), Katinko, Whisper, UL Skin Sciences, and the dedicated student ambassadors of World Vision Philippines.

In his closing remarks, World Vision Philippines National Director Dr. Herbert Q. Carpio shared, “World Vision Philippines’ Girls Can is more than a campaign. It is a movement. A declaration that every girl deserves the chance to learn, to lead, to decide for herself, and to thrive. When we empower girls, we are investing in stronger families, safer communities, and a better future for all.

Supporting a girl creates a ripple effect—one that uplifts generations. May we continue to build spaces where girls are safe, confident, and empowered to dream big. Together, we can make sure every girl knows—yes, she can.”

The launch featured powerful presentations by World Vision Ambassadors and long-time child sponsors including Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Janina Vela, and Quest, alongside inspiring segments from sports and beauty pageant icons supporting girls’ confidence and leadership. The event also marked the introduction of Belle Mariano as World Vision Philippines’ newest ambassador, lending her voice and influence to inspire young girls to believe in their worth and pursue their dreams.

Corporate and individual advocates received special recognition for their invaluable support, and attendees pledged their commitment to girls’ empowerment through a symbolic commitment wall.

Girls Can Advocacy Video Series to Launch August 12

As part of its continued advocacy, World Vision Philippines will also release a series of advocacy videos beginning August 12, 2025, to reinforce this year’s campaign messaging and further amplify girls’ voices.

Each video will spotlight one of the Girls Can themes and feature World Vision Ambassadors and supporters reading heartfelt letters from girls who courageously shared their personal stories of hope, resilience, and empowerment.

New videos will be released weekly, starting August 12, on World Vision Philippines’ official platforms with hashtags #WorldVisionPH #GirlsCan.
